Use Dryer Sheets to Tackle Static on Planes
2022-12-07
I don’t know about anyone else, but static electricity just attacks my hair when I’m traveling. It is something that is not only super annoying, but it really makes it difficult if I have to sleep overnight on the plane, and wake up looking as fresh as possible the next morning.
Most of the time, after a trans-Atlantic flight touches down in the morning, I’m not able to check in to my hotel and freshen up until the afternoon. So, my hair needs to be good-to-go until then. When my hair is full of static and taking on a life of it’s own, I have two choices: put it up or tame it.
If I’m going sightseeing and I want it to be down for photos, I have to make it work. Or if I have to go to straight to work upon landing, then it needs to look presentable as well.
My solution: I started bringing a little bag of dryer sheets with me in my carry-on luggage. When I notice my hair starting to build with static, I take out a dryer sheet, put it in my hand, and run it through my hair. Not only does it help to tame the unruly static charge in my locks, it also gives my hair a little freshness boost too.
Dryer sheets are one of my favorite travel hacks, so I hope you find them useful as well.
