Travel Day Fashion

Let’s talk travel day outfits. You want something that is cute, comfortable, and ready to wear after your flight if you plan to sightsee before you can check into your hotel. Here I will breakdown my must-wear travel day items.

Jacket

Every airplane I’ve ever been on is like the artic circle. It doesn’t matter if your destination is a tropical island in the Caribbean or a ski resort in the Alps, the plane will most likely be cold. So, a jacket is a non-negotiable travel day item for me. I typically pick a lighter jacket, like a jean jacket or my little leather jacket. My big coats I tend to pack, because they are normally too much for the plane, but it could be a good packing strategy to wear your big coat to save on suitcase space if need be.

Top

The top I wear is usually just something casual but cute. I want it to wear easily, and not wrinkle too much, especially if I’m sleeping overnight on the plane. I normally pick something pretty neutral that will go with a variety of different things. I like it to be short-sleeved, so in the off-chance it’s actually hot on the plane I can just take my jacket off and I am comfortable. It depends on the time of year and my destination too.

Bottoms

I don’t like to wear jeans, especially if I’m on an overnight flight. I want to be comfortable, but still look presentable. So, my go-to for bottoms will always be joggers. They are comfy, but also designed to be worn outside the house. I live in the spacedye joggers from Beyond Yoga. They are the softest pants I’ve ever worn, they have cute pockets, and they come in just about every color you can imagine. I think I have like 5 or 6 pairs. I love that I can dress them up with the top I choose too.

Footwear

What I wear here will largely depend on my destination and the time of year. Typically, I’m going somewhere relatively warm because I really don’t enjoy being cold. So, you can almost always catch me at the airport in a cute pair of sandals. If I want to wear closed-toe shoes, my absolute favorite shoes to travel in are my Gypsy Jazz sneakers. They easily slip on and off for security lines, they are super lightweight, they are the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn, and they look great with everything. If I happen to be going somewhere cold (not normally by choice), then I will wear my boots. This is also a nice suitcase space-saver as well.
