My Favorite Travel Shoes
2022-12-06
If I’m going to a place that is going to require a lot of walking and being on my feed all day, I’ve got to bring comfortable shoes with me. It feels like my feet have always been so sensitive, so when I found the perfect shoe that I could wear all day with no issues, I fell in love.
I stumbled across the Gypsy Jazz brand of shoe completely randomly. A friend of mine, who I grew up with, has an online boutique. I just happened to see her post about these amazing shoes, and the comments caught my eye. Everyone was saying how comfortable they were and how cute they were. So, naturally, I was intrigued.
I bought a basic black pair for about $45. They arrived at my house and I picked up the box. It was so light. I thought, ‘there’s no way there are shoes in here.’ I pulled them out of the box and they were super cute, sporty, and ultra-lightweight. I put them on and it was like I wasn’t wearing anything at all. It was a good start, but I wanted to put them to the ultimate test.
I packed them in the suitcase I took for my week-long visit to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. I would be walking cobbled streets, bike riding, sight-seeing, and hiking the beaches there. This would be the perfect opportunity to see if these shoes lived up to the hype.
Honestly, they were amazing. I walked around in them all day every day. I has no blisters, no sore toes, no aching arches…I was impressed. I paired them with casual dresses, jeans, shorts, and skirts. They were so versatile that they were able to be dressed down or up, depending on the need. After that trip, the Gypsy Jazz Holli shoe would be a travel staple from here on out.
I went home, bought a light gray pair and I also have a special sparkly mint edition. Each season they come out with new colors and styles, so there’s always a chance to snag something new. Also, the price point at $40-$65 each just can’t be beat for how cute and comfortable they are.
My tip: order a ½ size down from your normal size in this shoe. I feel like it runs a little big. Unfortunately, they are sold exclusively in boutiques, so you can’t try them on before you buy, unless you are close to a boutique that sells them. Also, Gypsy Jazz has a siter company, that has a similar style, fit, and comfort, which is called “Very G.” Just google either option and you will find a bunch of cute shoes for sale, and the bonus is, if you choose an online boutique to purchase them from, you will also most likely be supporting a small business too. I love to shop for mine at my friend’s boutique Be Majestical, but if she doesn’t have any in stock, this boutique has some great deals too.
